Tom Morello Visits Occupy Vancouver

On October 19th, musician and IWW member Tom Morello (best known as the guitarist for Rage Against the Machine) paid a visit to Occupy Vancouver, where he invited all of the protesters to attend his show that night at the Vogue theatre free of charge. Performing under his solo moniker "the Nightwatchman," Morello serenaded the capacity crowd with revolutionary anthems and signature guitar work. After the show, Vancouver IWW members met with Morello backstage and presented him with a branch t-shirt.

Occupy Vancouver: Begins October 15th

As the Occupy Wall Street protest enters its fourth week and the spirit of resistance continues to shine brightly from Greece to the Middle East, Vancouver is set to join hundreds of other North American cities in starting an Occupy movement of its own to help create a more egalitarian world. Beginning on October 15th, protesters will be occupying the lawn of the Art Gallery downtown and holding marches to the city's financial centres. Find out more at the Occupy Vancouver website.
